About us
Our Beginnings
Our origins can be traced to two villages in Africa and the devastating loss of a spouse. The lessons learned from supporting education in Africa were found to equally applicable for women searching for answers in life’s transitions, experiences, and needs.
The power of this website is generated by women for women, through bonding with other women for the express intention of inspiring and empower women to create lives of purpose, meaning, hope and joy. Our retreats and workshops provide the backbone of the website as the information shared in these adventures is reviewed and incorporated here to share with others.
Our story
In 2005, when Sally was living in Ghana, she was invited to come see a new school in the village of Akpormang. The school was in dire need of desks, books, and other school supplies. Team Sally to the rescue! After she aided Akpormang for about a year, she approached the school district to see if there were other places to help. Sally’s team was directed to the village of Ayi Mensa where a teacher and 18 children were holding school under a tree.
Under. A. Tree.
How do you think that works in a torrential downpour?
That opportunity led to building a second school with 15 classrooms that now serves over 500 children. During this time in Ghana, Sally observed the need for an organization where disparate charities and groups could coordinate their efforts and learn from each other to eliminate costly startup fees, shorten their learning curve, and maximize their efforts.

Sally’s experiences in Africa came back into play in 2021. A dear friend of Sally’s lost her husband very unexpectedly just before they were planning to retire and “see the world.” Dreams were shattered, and her friend was devastated.
When her friend mentioned that she needed to get away on the anniversary of her husband’s death, Sally shifted into high gear and planned a mini women’s retreat. Wanting to bring more of a purpose to the trip, Sally thought back to Africa, and came up with a plan for women to coordinate their efforts to help one another, similar to the concept for charities working together in Africa. How many women are lost upon the death of a spouse, or when divorce rears its head? How many women retire without fully understanding their financial and health needs. This became their purpose.
When women take time to nurture themselves while also engaging in something bigger, a bond is formed. Sharing ideas, knowledge, wisdom, and experience is the glue that holds women together. The value of the connections formed at these retreats is unmeasurable, and through this website, we are sharing some of that with others.
